The Bible does not appear to be "women" friendly or supportive in many instances. Why? Examples - When angels came to Lot and the people wanted him to send them out to know them, he offered up his daughters instead. In Revelation, referencing the 144,000, it speaks of their being virgins, not defiled by women. While I understand that the Bible is full of symbolism, it is my feeling that women are treated "less than" in this world most likely influenced by the manner in which they are treated by example in the Bible.
